Clean water is life changing in many countries in Sub-Sahara region. GAiN Water for Life Initiative provided close to 3.000 deep-capped water wells in this region. This means 3 million people with access to clean water, better health and better economic circumstances.
Will you be our Drilling and Technology Specialist?
As Drilling and Technology Specialist in the Water for Life Initiative (WFLI) you will work in an international team with colleagues from Canada, Australia and several European countries together with local teams in Benin, Togo and Tanzania. It will be your role to ensure that our field partners have the appropriate level of support in drilling operations and procurement.
These are your responsibilities
- Details of the WFLI Drilling Operations are well managed (40%).
- Materials and supplies to the field arrive in a timely fashion to keep projects working smoothly (30%).
- Research, recommend and implement new equipment, systems and tools to safely and effectively improve the drilling process of the WFLI (20%).
- Field visits are conducted as needed, to ensure effective implementation of the program (10%).
We are looking for someone who
- Has a passion for humanitarian aid seeking to demonstrate the love of God.
- Has effective communication skills as well as exceptional interpersonal skills.
- Has good organizational skills.
- Is able to work with minimum of supervision.
- Is a problem solver & critical thinker.
- Can quickly adapt and perform in a cross-cultural setting.
- Has technical skills/aptitude.
It would be an asset
- If you have a minimum of 3 years of experience in working in a relief and development ministry or other related ministry/industry in an international setting.
- If you have experience with drilling equipment or other heavy equipment.

Salary
As a GAiN-employee your salaried on the basis of personal fundraising (Ministry Partner Development), or you work as a volunteer. In case of MPD we offer training and coaching how to involve family, friends, churches en companies. They provide financially and support you with prayer for the ministry.
